“Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen… yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.” – Bradley Whitford
Oftentimes, when faced with life challenges, many of us likely pray or meditate to seek grace or divine intervention in our situations. I have seen it all too common in the churches where well-meaning, sincere people pray with all their heart for a healing for a loved one, or even for themselves. However, even with the prayers of so many, we lose our loved ones, or our condition worsens.
In many of these cases, I do not believe there is a lack of faith. Instead, what could often be lacking is the actions that need to be taken as a result of that faith. If someone is dealing with weight issues or diabetes, for example, while they may take the time and effort to consult with a physician and get put on medication for their condition, they often think that this is enough. They think that because they are taking medication that they can continue to live the lifestyle that they’ve grown accustomed to.
However, true healing doesn’t come from just popping pills to cover up these warning signs of something gone awry within our bodies. Instead, it comes from understanding the root causes of what brought us to this condition, so that we can make comprehensive changes in our diet and lifestyle to create the lives that we truly want.
So, rather than praying, meditating, and saying positive affirmations, and hoping that everything will turn out all right, take action based on your faith!
